Transportation Managers

Senior Management Careers in Transportation Services

Transportation supervisor, manager or coordinator coordinates聽transportation services, including the coordination of transportation for students, organization of school bus routes, management of budgets and supervision of bus maintenance and bus related staffing.

In some districts, directors of transportation have additional responsibilities in the facilities department. 聽Besides managing transportation services, they may manage capital projects, oversee construction, plan maintenance services, and prepare the district’s operations plan.

Managers聽in fleet services, grounds/maintenance, transportation, and custodial services聽report directly to the Director.

Qualifications and Certification Details

Some positions may require professional designation or certification such as a diploma in transportation management. Others may ask for a combination of experience, training and a valid class 2 BC driver鈥檚 license. See individual school district postings for more details.
