Whistler Waldorf School is a non鈥憄rofit independent school serving over 200 students from preschool through Grade 12. Fully accredited by the B.C. Ministry of Education, we are proud members of Waldorf Early Childhood of North America (WECAN) and an associate school of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA).

What Makes Us Unique

Our holistic, well鈥憆ounded curriculum combines academic rigor with artistic, practical, and social development. Learning is guided by B.C.鈥揷ertified educators with specialized Waldorf training, supported by small class sizes and a class鈥憈eacher model that builds strong, lasting student relationships.

Our program includes French instruction beginning in Grade 1, Handwork and Practical Arts, and an enriched Liberal, Music and Fine Arts curriculum, alongside experiential learning, environmental leadership, Outdoor Education, service learning and international exchange opportunities.

The Sea to Sky

Whistler is one of North America鈥檚 top mountain resorts, offering world-class skiing, biking, hiking and five stunning lakes. Just 90 minutes north of Vancouver, it鈥檚 home to a vibrant arts scene and a close-knit community of over 10,000.

The Sea to Sky Corridor, stretching from Squamish to Pemberton, is rich in outdoor adventure and renowned destinations like Whistler Mountain Bike Park. The region also features excellent dining, shopping and cultural events.

Despite its popularity, Whistler maintains a small-town feel. Annual festivals like Cornucopia, Crankworx and the World Ski and Snowboard Festival reflect its welcoming, community spirit.

Application requirements

  • Certification and Education: Valid BC Teacher, Early Childhood Educator or Education Assistant Certification (or eligibility to apply), with a Bachelor of Education or equivalent Subject Teacher recognized qualification. International credentials may be eligible for equivalency.
  • Teaching Experience: Relevant teaching experience preferred; early-career and newly qualified teachers are encouraged to apply. Waldorf school experience or certification a bonus.
  • Canadian Work Authorization: Legally eligible to work in Canada or the ability to obtain appropriate authorization.
  • Professional Skills: Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to build positive professional relationships.
