Welcome to PALS Autism School

Founded by parents in 2007, PALS Autism School is a K-12 independent inclusive education school that provides individualized, inclusive education that helps students with autism build skills, confidence and independence.

Why You’ll Love It Here

At PALS, you’ll be part of a collaborative and supportive team of educators, behaviour specialists, therapists and school leaders passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with autism.

We celebrate student progress and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous learning. Our fun, fast-paced environment balances structure and routine with opportunities for growth and new experiences.

Every day offers the chance to make a meaningful impact alongside like-minded professionals in a purpose-driven community.

What We Value

We are committed to creating a supportive, inclusive learning environment where students with autism can thrive.

Vision: To be a model learning environment that supports the needs of individuals with autism in small group formats.

Mission: To provide year-round scientifically validated educational programs designed to encourage individual growth and personal achievement.

What Makes Us Unique

PALS is one of only 14 schools in B.C. recognized by the Ministry of Education and Child Care with an Inclusive Education Designation (ISIED), reflecting our commitment to providing exceptional teaching and support for students with autism.

Students learn in small-group settings and receive individualized support through low staff-to-student ratios, including 1:1 and 2:3 instructional models. Support is provided by trained Educational Instructors, a unique hybrid role that combines the skills of a Behaviour Interventionist and Educational Assistant.

Our year-round educational program provides consistency for learning while incorporating several scheduled breaks throughout the year, supporting the well-being of both students and staff.

Our School Community

We are a collaborative, student-centred school community where staff are united by a shared commitment to making a difference in the lives of children with autism.

Students are supported by a multidisciplinary team that includes inclusive education teachers, behaviour analysts, speech-language and occupational therapy professionals and educational instructors.

Together, we focus on developing communication, social, academic, life and transition skills. Strong partnerships with families are a key part of our approach, supported through daily communication and file sharing using a dedicated mobile app.

New West Living

Our school is located in the historic Queen’s Park neighbourhood of New Westminster, operating out of a beautiful heritage home across from Tipperary Park and its popular weekly farmers’ market.

With its family-friendly atmosphere, vibrant waterfront, abundant parks and convenient SkyTrain access, New Westminster offers the perfect blend of community, green space and urban amenities. Its central location provides easy access to Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey, Richmond and the North Shore, making it an attractive place to live and work.
